I initially called Dan at SMHC regarding a ground source heat pump at our cottage. We quickly determined that an air source heat pump (ASHP) installed in a hybrid fashion with our existing propane furnace was a better solution. Dan quickly provided quotes with three ASHP options. We selected the Mitsubishi unit given its strong track record, performance in cold weather & recommendation by Dan. The installation by Colin V & Dylan was flawless despite a reasonably complex configuration integrating the Mitsubishi ASHP with our existing KeepRite propane furnace. Not to mention the furnace is installed horizontally in a crawl space, so adding the heat exchanger & adjusting the ductwork was more challenging than in a full height basement. The guys were professional, knowledgeable and did the work on schedule with little disruption to our lives during installation. It was a nice clean install with nothing left for us to do except enjoy the new ASHP. They also took the time to explain the function of all components of the installation and how the new Ecobee thermostat works. Well done SMHC!
