Car Repair in Orillia

“These five stars are for Fred Clarke and his staff over the thirteen odd years I took my car to Freddie's. They were always willing to squeeze me in around a chaotic schedule, tell me exactly what needed to be fixed and cost and be friendly and approachable.

Since Fred retired and Freddie's was sold to neighbouring Orillia Volkswagen and I took my car in for a squeak, they put the wrong belt on my car, tried to tighten it until they couldn't no more, kept me in their waiting room for two hours past my appointment time and then tried to sell me on an almost $1000 repair on a part that only Toyota would provide. I never felt welcome. I went down the street to Holdaway's, who replaced the belt for just over $100 and tightened it a couple weeks later for free.

Unfortunately, dealerships are always going to try and squeeze money out of you. What made Freddie's different is that Fred based his business on service and friendly service. It has been lost since he retired. Find a mechanic who has their own place; it is more likely you will get a good deal.“
