Shortly after leaving the original review, Kavita (Spa Director) contacted me offered to change the post from a 8mm to 6mm. I just took her up on the offer, and the shorter post fits much better.

She advised me of the following, which may be helpful for future clients: If you get your ear pierced in-store, they will check the post length and fit. But if you purchase an earring and they put it on in store for you (as I did), it comes with a standard 8mm post, and you have to pay additional small post if you want to switch it.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

I came to Caryl Baker Visage last weekend. Service was great, and I was helped right away. I purchased a gold marquise earring for my helix piercing, which was $150, plus tax. They put the earring in for me, and advised there could be no return unless a stone fell about.

My main issue: the post of the earring is way too large. As a result, the earring keeps flipping in the front, or the post sticks out in the back and gets caught in my hair (see pic).

I’m so disappointed. I’m out $179 for an earring that doesn’t fit.

I specifically showed them my current earring and explained it was for a helix piercing. They were the ones who put the earring in so I know it’s done correctly. I can’t imagine why they either didn’t select a smaller post, or notify me that this selection would be too loose so I could purchase another earring. I feel completely duped. This wasn’t an online purchase. I relied on their expertise and reputation for a good quality product and now I can’t return it.“
