Incredible experience with Van at Aura!!! — from start until finish, her professionalism, knowledge and skills blew me away. I had hair that hadn’t been touched in 5 years and with all of her help and amazing work we managed to accomplish a result that is beyond my expectations and more than I had ever expected. As someone with black hair, Van managed to pull through the most beautiful and perfect tones of cool blonde/beige — something I did not think was possible in ONE SESSION. Absolutely incredible. My hair feels and looks incredible, and thanks to Van, this mama to be had a long overdue makeover today and feels amazing. Thank you for your time and services — beyond what I had ever hoped for and grateful to have come in contact with Van and Aura Hair Salon. Thank you again!!!! I absolutely LOVE my hair!
I have had my hair done by Van at Studio Aura for the past 2 years and I have to say it really is the best salon around. The place itself is beautiful, spacious, and clean. If getting your hair coloured, you sit at a bar with magazines to read, TV to watch, snacks, and fun music always playing. I like the bar concept because you can see the stylists mix colours and you can see when they use Olaplex. At other salons they may go to the back to mix colours and you want to make sure you are actually getting what you pay for especially if you want Olaplex. It’s very open and you never feel like you are too close to the person next to you. Van and the other girls are very friendly and fun to talk to. I’ve never had to wait for my appointment to start because they don’t double book causing them to fall behind like other salons. My hair always looks amazing and does not feel damaged. I usually get an icy blonde double balayage with Olaplex and a shadow root. They use Dyson hair dryers (so cool) and I love the way Van curls my hair with a flat iron. My appointment is usually hours long but I would rather have a long appointment then feel like a stylist is rushing the process. The only thing I would change is the price. I usually end up paying A LOT in my opinion (I am not going to say exactly how much because it can be different depending on your hair but mine is usually over $700) and they don’t really have any specials or deals going on. I just find the price to be very high for a salon in Kitchener. I typically get my hair done every 6 months and unfortunately did not have that kind of money this time. I wanted to get my hair done before a vacation so I decided to go to a different salon. Although the other salon I went to did a good job for half the price (Olaplex included) the experience was nowhere close to what I am used to at Studio Aura. Just a warning that once you go to Studio Aura, you will be hooked and everywhere else cannot compare (just save your money first)!
