About Crunch Fitness - Waterdown
Crunch Fitness in Waterdown is a relatively new facility with fresh equipment and most areas in good condition. Members appreciate the friendly and helpful staff. The gym offers good hours, although it no longer operates 24/7. Traffic is generally light, making it a good choice for midday workouts. The gym is well-suited for leg day exercises due to the lack of stairs. Some members wish the deadlift area was larger. The gym also benefits from working air conditioning. Recently, members have noted that the equipment can be dusty and sometimes breaks repeatedly, leading to long waits for repairs. The equipment quality is considered lower, with some machines like the lat pull-down being especially poor. The change room area often smells bad, with odors of sweat, bleach, or sewage, especially when plumbing issues cause backups. Many feel that the air fresheners or different cleaning products should be used to improve the smell. Despite these issues, the gym is mostly worth its very cheap price and provides most of the equipment expected from a commercial gym. The front desk staff is friendly. Members enjoy the classes, with instructors making participants feel welcome and encouraging group effort. Popular classes include Joint Ventures, which helps stretch and restore muscles after workouts, and Push the Perimeter, known for giving a thorough workout. However, during evenings, the gym can get overcrowded, sometimes with two classes taking up large areas. Overall, from what members have seen and heard, Crunch Fitness remains the best option in Waterdown.
There is much to like about the new Waterdown facility, it's very spacious and clean. However, there are a few things that could be corrected for everyone's comfort.
There were benches and rubber mats in the locker room/showers of the old gym, would really like those back. Also, fans in the upper cardio area would make the temperature more comfortable.
Finally, I don't understand why Crunch doesn't seem to have a policy for users to take off their outdoor shoes at the front door, especially in the winter. At the planet fitness I used to attend, they had a bench and shoe racks, as well as very clear signage, indicating the need to take off outdoor footwear before...read full review
Great new set up! I really like it!
Fresh and new, the only downside is the front door faces due west and the wind blows right in the gym with a really cold blast right through the gym.
I’ve been training with Emily and she’s been incredible. Super professional, very patient, and really knows how to guide you the right way. I feel motivated and confident with her workouts. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great trainer!
