“I adopted a 5 mo old Catahoula mix pup that I was told was deaf but that didn't matter with our dog trainer, Jonathan, as everything is done with hand motions. It is, in my opinion, to have your pup do what you want with a gesture and not letting everyone know or hear it. And Jonathan taught me on how to have Giggles respond to what I wanted. To have a trainer take and train your dog I don't think is always best. But you must work with your dog every day, maybe 3x a day. Giggles is still work in progress but he now sits, lie down, can walk over him without flinching, loose leash walk and roll over. Next is to stay put longer and not to lunge and jump on people but that is also coming along with just 5 classes. Soon he begins further training to become a therapy dog. How exciting. And all this helps with bonding with your furry companion.“
