“I decided to update this review, from 1 star to 4 stars, because yes, Bruce consistently raised fees with me, but they were gradual increases. It's true that the last time I had my taxes done here, for a year that I lived in one state & worked in another, he said it cost $30 more because it was dealing with 2 states. I didn't understand it at first because I got no return this time and it did not take him any longer for him to do it, the only difference I could see was that they handed me an envelope so I could send a check to one of these states. I do feel that maybe more could have been done, because it was over quick...I didnt ask many questions because I expected a return & was surprised to learn that I owed. I had made a couple of donations that year, and remembered that after leaving his office. I don't know if any of those answers would have resulted in me not owing, but this year I went to a different type of establishment for my taxes. I appreciated the fact that I got an advance at this new place, but they were way more expensive than Bruce. They explained the reason for this, but it didn't really resonate with me & they charged me more than 4× what Bruce did. So in retrospect, I'd say that his fees are quite affordable if you do need or want someone else to do your taxes for you“
