“When my Father passed suddenly we had a number of people recommend Tribute Funeral Home in Norman. The family scheduled a meeting with Tribute the following day. We met with Shane Vice and almost instantly had a connection with him! He was very easy to work with and when we were unsure of what we wanted he stepped in and gave us a number of options to choose from. Once we picked out the vault he talked to us about some different things we could add to the top of it to memorialize my father. What we wanted to do was something that would take more time than what we had so Shane told us not to worry about it that he had an idea and would surprise us. I promise you that we normally wouldn't have just turned this over to someone we didn't trust. Like I said we all felt very comfortable with Shane! I'm here to tell you that Shane surprised every single member of our family with the most fitting tribute to my father on top of the vault. Not only that but he surprised us with a balloon release at the Memorial!I just can't put it in words how special Shane and all of the people at Tribute Funeral Home are to my family! “10/2/2024...We want to thank the Grounds Crew at Resthaven Funeral Home for finding my baby brother's grave marker, which was initially thought to be "an unmarked grave". We went back in June to decorate my parents' gravesite and remembered that our Mom always decorated the "baby's grave". Finally, I am able to come and decorate more than one grave, after raising a family, living far away, etc. When we came to the space where the grave was supposed to be, we found nothing. I was heartbroken that I had a newborn baby brother 40+ years ago, and assumed that his grave was unmarked. I didn't want to think it was left off. We then made plans to possibly buy a marker, etc. I began looking for his exact Birthdate, since the file only showed a burial date. No death certificate inside the file from many years ago. I called the state department of vital records, etc. and other places searching for it. No luck. One week later, my husband found a picture of the grave on a website known as "Find a Grave". I couldn't believe it!! Kudos to that website as well. I phoned Resthaven and sent a picture of the grave marker we saw on the website. Within one week the grounds crew found the marker overgrown with grass. ( Back then, granite was not required around the grave markers, I was told; and that is why the marker had sunken.) We are so comforted that my baby brother did* have a grave marker. We plan to have the grave marker repainted, refurbished and a piece of granite put around the marker. Resthaven has been involved with our family since even before the 1970s. The cemetery always looks nice, and the office, chapel building is very nice, cool inside and well-decorated. The ladies are nice, friendly and ready to help. We usually drive up from TX on a hot day to decorate, and the restrooms, cool water if needed are readily available. It is clean, safe and caring there at Resthaven.
