Fire the front desk staff and replace with compassionate humans. I needed an answer about my dog who was one of their patients. They were rude and refused to help me. I am afraid I lost my cool w them and they banned me and my 5 dogs from returning there. Surely with all these negative comments about their front desk staff the drs especially Dr Dykstra who is one of the owners would do something to change this. I am really sorry because she was always good to me.
Never, again. I had a scheduled appointment for 11:00 a.m., this morning. I pulled in at 11:05. (Struggling to catch and entice two outdoor/indoor cats, into a crate, is not easy). I stayed in my vehicle (honoring their current policy) and called the office, (per their request). They answered and placed me on hold until another individual answered and began asking questions about the 3 pets I had scheduled for this appointment. I answered all of her questions. I also asked about shots for my dachshund as she was due, as well. I then answered all of those questions and was placed on hold again. The office assistant then came back on the line and said the doctor wanted to cancel my appointment, because I was late!!! What??!! Yes, I will take accountability that I was 5 minutes late, but I had already waited longer on their office, answering their questions and being placed on hold multiple times, than the 5 minutes they waited for me. She explained that the doctor had already taken the next patient in early. I was under the impression their office scheduled appointment on a 30 minute block. It was only 11:15, right then. This should still be my time. I was then told they would treat me like a walk-in and get to me when they had time. No, thank you. Obviously, Wheatland has more business than they can handle. I will be taking my pets elsewhere.
I have used Wheatland for years, loved the service that was provided to me an my furbabies. However, recently the service has drastically changed. I have heard it from many friends, but witnessed it first hand today.
