Capabilities is the largest private direct employment services provider in the state of Ohio and connects the dots for people with disabilities to assist them keep and find employment in their communities. Started in 1997 by Bill and Karen Blumhorst, a former special education teacher, today Capabilities employees proudly serve people in over three-fourths of Ohio. Capabilities is sought after for its comprehensive services, focus on supported employment, flexible personalized service, optimistic corporate culture, and one-on-one customer service.

I just completed Driving training with Capabilities, my instructor Brian was amazing, he was patient and when I performed a turn or lane change wrong, he explained how to improve very well! Thank you Brian!!
One day I was happy, employed and enjoying my life. The next moment, I was being extricated from my mangled car sitting on a sidewalk. Permanently disabled, no longer to do the job I loved, in constant pain, and sometimes dipping into despair, Capabilities appeared. I'm young (ok, not that young) and wanted to restore my life to some symbolism of what I once had. Capabilities first realized where I was emotionally and physically and crafted a plan of restoration through action. Kind and gentle encouragement coupled with the cap"ABILITIES" to walk with me until I could find my way, they offered services and programs that were just what I needed. My journey is far from over actually, it is just beginning, and I look forward to each step. The folks at Capabilities genuinely care about people and it shows in the results we are all able to achieve because of them! I am, and forever will be, GRATEFUL!!!!! Thank you all so much!
