Hired this guy for dry wall repair, replace toilet and vanity, demo floor and install new floor. He didn't arrive until almost 11 am after I texted him at 930. When the agreed upon time for arrival was 830/845. His co-worker demo's the floor and put pieces of the floor on the hole where the toilet is suppose to go. He didn't sand down the drywall mud, the supply lines for the faucet are leaking and the supply line for the toilet is not long enough. He stole the new valves bought for the new supply lines, the flange for the toilet, the corner piece to repair the drywall, and that's just I know wasn't replaced. I contacted this guy off thumbtack. Was supposed to show up for the estimate and his truck was hit in the gas station parking lot down the street he finally comes a few days later and gives me a great quote to do painting, hang tvs and change a thermostat. He said won't take credit cards only cash red flag 2. I asked him four different times to send me a written estimate for the work to be done. Always an excuse about sending it to the wrong email or his computer was down. Finally I googled his company and phone and saw all the complaints about him scamming people. I submitted a quote request for a plumber via Yelp to repair a slow drip on a tub faucet and received a response from Bill Cox with Buckeye Property & Handywork. Body of the message said "this is Bill with Miami Valley Plumbing". First red flag was reviews showing up for him under at least 3 different company names. I paid $1,000 in cash (they don't take cards) for 90 minutes of work. They tested hot/cold faucets to ensure they weren't dripping, took the cash & left. This was a Friday.
