We were looking for a good barber for my son and walked-in to J&R's based on google reviews. The location is rough looking. The guys are definitely just there to cut hair., and the customers do not seem to mind one bit. While waiting for my son, I often look around and ponder the slight changes they could make and really elevate the look of the spot. (Apparently this only matters to me? ha!) On our first walk-in we got the first available barber, AJ. AJ is the man! He takes his t-i-m-e cutting my son's hair, and it definitely shows. Don't let the ambiance dissuade you. This is a respectable location. Sports or news is always on the tv. They always have good music playing. The barbers and clients are well acquainted w each other, talking everything from sports to politics. As a woman chilling in a barber shop, I feel absolutely fine. When my son is older, he'll definitely be coming on his own. In the back is a woman's salon, but I don't know anything about their services.
