Reviews for Village Cleaners

I'm not exactly sure how they expect to stay in business by closing at 2pm M-F and not being open at all on the weekends. They've held hostage half my work wardrobe for the past two weeks. I guess they expect me to use vacation time to pick up my dry cleaning?

I have been using this dry cleaner for my entire adult life . They have always provided excellent service. I strayed a few times and paid the price when another local cleaner ruined a pair of my pants. I learned 'you get what you pay for' on that one. Village may be slightly more $ but they are well worth it!

I was unhappy with the service that I received. I took my winter jacket in to have some work done on it. When I spoke to the woman who does the alterations, I explained to her what I needed to have done. She told me that she could not fix the pocket zipper, even though there is a seam right next to the zipper. I wanted to say, "Well, can't you just open up the seam and fix the zipper that way?" For a seamstress that knows what they are doing, this should be fairly easy to do.Another thing that I did not like was when the seamstress told me that she was not sure if she had a zipper long enough to replace the zipper on the front of my coat. I would think that a competant seamstress would have zippers of various sizes to be able to accommodate people who need to have a zipper replaced. Or, if you don't have the correct sized zipper, there are plenty of craft stores (Michaels, Hobby Lobby) where you can buy what you need.Lastly, and this was the thing that really got under my skin, was when the seamstress complained about there being animal hair on my coat. She said she was allergic, and started scratching her hand, saying, "I'm itching already". She told me to take my coat home, take the hair off, and to come back. To me, saying that to a customer is rude. My coat had just been washed, and yes, it did have a bit of hair on it. When you work with animals all day, like I do, it is inevitable that your clothes will get a bit furry. If I had been in her position, I would have politely suggested having the coat dry cleaned, so that it could be worked on, without having an allergy issue.I left and did not come back. The seamstress seemed to be unable and unwilling to do what I needed to have done on my coat. Coupled with her rude comment and her seemingly uncaring attitude about making sure that I was satisfied and that my needs were met. I am taking my alterations to another seamstress in the area who has excellent reviews.I was very disappointed in my experience with the seamstress at Village Cleaners. There was another seamstress who used to work at Village Cleaners who was excellent. It's a shame that she is no longer working there, because the seamstress that is working at Village Cleaners now, in my honest opinion, is subpar.
