Make sure to read every line of the contract on all pages. It was never verbally discussed not finishing the staining and taking away a very expensive window. We entrusted as they were recommended by a friend. Lesson learned. The crew never let us know they were done and smoked on and near our home. We could smell the cigarettes in the basement where we were working. Everything in the laundry room had to be washed and walls sprayed with vinegar. No follow up was done to ask how it went. We did not receive any contact following the completion until we initiated after the project to ask about the staining and where our window went. $2800 is a lot to spend and very surprised no one even asked how it looked or if everything was satisfactory. The excuse in regards to the stain is "you are friends with a painter" is not a proper business response. First of all it is not his responsibility, secondly, that is a complete cop out. Just because we know someone doesn't mean that we would want it not completed 100%. Had we discussed them not completing the stain, I would have asked for a price OR to please leave a piece of the current trim to match the stain. UPDATE: the company has yet to provide a copy of the warranty nor my change for overpayment. Do not trust this company.
