I was visiting from out of town when my diabetic Miniature Schnauzer got sick. I took him to Avon Animal & Bird Hospital who were gentle and caring with our little Cody and myself. I recently moved back to Elyria and intend on taking our Jake there.

Doc P is the real deal! He helped our family through the hardest illness with our pet and always told us the truth. He answered calls at 9 in the evening. Left messages with details and referred us out as needed. He is truly the definition of animal care! Bless you Doc!

I have known Dr.Putkonen and the Avon Animal Hospital staff and partners since 1977. Without exception every one is highly skilled and compassionate. Dr. Martti Putkonen is the best veterinarian I have ever known. I have known many excellent vets during my 38 years of pet ownership. His skills and medical knowledge are astounding. The Avon animal hospital reflects his standards. Every staff member is skilled and deeply compassionate. They handle both my cats and my numerous Great Danes with assurance. My Danes happily go with staff members with no shyness or reluctance. My cats are not nearly as cooperative but are handled with compassion and skill. I cannot recomend Dr. Putkonen and the Avon Animal Hospital highly enough.
