Terrible timeline to get an X-ray report! I had an X-ray there on 10/10/24 & was told yesterday by a tech that they were swamped with getting X-rays read! I would NEVER recommend them for excellence in care! You can be sure your bill will be sent PROMPTLY and be over priced!!!!!!!!!
I am here right now for an upper scope (gastro procedure.) On mornings when I have not had coffee, I am not a joy to be around-- but this team has been friendly, caring, and engaged with me the whole time despite my likely obnoxiousness! From the first contact in the lobby through the comforting visit from anesthesia, every person at this Cleveland Clinic location has gone above and beyond to make sure that I feel safe and confident. (I think I was in oversharing mode, so that's no small task.) Often when someone is talkative in such a setting the staff is not actually listening, but that's not the case here. I have carried with me since childhood a note in my medical history file that lists a penicillin allergy-- Karolyn (even after listening to stories of my "I was a fat kid" childhood hell) had the presence of mind to catch that detail and brought me a brochure regarding allergy testing for penicillin (it turns out many of us who have such a note don't actually know if we are allergic to penicillin.) Competence being assumed, listening is the most important skill for a medical provider. The Cleveland Clinic employee culture seems to promote this value. The woman who was with me right before the procedure and rolled my dizzy self through the snowy morning out to the the car deserves more than this anonymous shout out, but sadly I was too out of it to catch her name. (For anyone who is curious, the procedure went well.)
My husband had to go here on Memorial Day. With Covid they of course won't let anyone go into the hospital, can't even wait in the waiting room. Upon check in they promise to call with updates. NO calls for 3 hours. The only reason I knew my husband would be ok was I was able to get ahold of him on his cell phone. I asked him a couple of questions and he said he'd ask the nurse to call. After she verified my name, this is her honest next statement, said in a snarky tone. "I understand you're getting antsy". This is the first time she's spoken to me. I told her if by antsy you mean looking for information on how my husband is doing, yes I'm antsy. I asked her about 5 questions. Her answer to EVERY question was "I don't know". So I wait 3 hours for an update that didn't come. When called upon request the nurse started the conversation with a snarky tone and then either knew nothing or chose to not share the info. Then over an hour wait for lab results. If you like that kind of thing then sure, bring your loved one here. If you prefer to speak to knowledgeable professional people that take good care of your loved ones, then go somewhere else. First (and last) time to this facility but second awful experience with Cleveland Clinic.
