“Dr. Eldridge really cares about the animals. I've been to many vets and they all price gouge to the point where owners are forced to make decisions based on finances. To me those vets should not be in business. Yes, all great vets should make a great living, the money and time spent to become a veterinarian warrant that, but neither side should take advantage of the other. Be honest, pay great vets (like Dr. Eldridge) what they deserve, w/o manipulation, and any vets that read this should follow Dr. Eldridge's lead. “I have been going to South Putnam Animal Hospital for years. The doctors and staff are exceptional. Not only are they knowledgeable but they are kind both with the animals and with their parents . I have never had an issue making an appointment for my cat even if it's last minute. They are reasonably priced and worth every dime. I highly recommend them.“

“Dr. Andrew Frishman is literally a life-saver! He and his team at Progressive saved my dog's life. I was given a cancer diagnosis by the vet that we have used for years in Manhattan. The vet there said the tumor was inoperable and there was not treatment for this type of cancer. As we weighted our options to put our beautiful and loving pet down, THANKFULLY, we sought a second opinion from Dr. Frishman. Dr. Frishman advised he could perform the operation immediately. We had our pet in his care the very next morning. The tumor was removed, and now our dog is on an innovative immunotherapy treatment plan consisting of 3 shots that have zero side effect. Our dog is thriving and couldn't be happier. And, to think, we were told there was no treatment by a very expensive tribeca vet. I now make the drive to Somers without a second thought. I implicitly trust Dr. Frishman and his team. Everyone there is thoughtful, full of compassion, loving towards the animals (and yes, I've watched them with their other patients as they come and go out - everyone smiling and happy), and their costs are very, very reasonable. They do not charge for anything "extra" and they do not try to sell any unnecessary treatments or services, which is so refreshing. Additionally, she is so kind, supportive, and very careful in terms of her opinion on a specific medical issue. Gratefully, she is not an alarmist, but instead, explains issues with the utmost care and understanding of the pet owner’s needs. Dr. Ghersini also communicates via email almost instantaneously which is so comforting when you are concerned about your pet. My 13 ½ and 11 ½ year old dogs run to her when she comes to our house! She is truly gifted in her knowledge, approach, and competency. You would be truly lucky to have Dr. Ghersini take care of your pets in your home, no less!“

“The mix of high+low reviews here is perplexing, but I can only speak to my own experience. I am so grateful that I found ​the Animal Health Center/Vet Village​ -- they gave us extraordinary care. My dog was in​ acute distress and I had seen 3 vets within a week​, including a world renowned ER in Manhattan. All of them could tell me that something was wrong, but were not able to diagnose. All referred me out for further testing at providers that didn't have availability for months​. Eventually I found the Animal Health Center/Vet Village. Dr. Haroush quickly assessed my dog, got him in for tests immediately, and within hours was able to consult with a neurologist, run tests, and provide a full diagnosis. He kept in touch day by day about progress, options, and financial implications. The vet tech and admin staff were kind, knowledgeable, and supportive. Dr. Haroush definitely has alpha surgeon energy, and is laser-focused on animal welfare, and less on sugarcoating things for the pet parent. I can understand if this style doesn't click for everyone. But I trusted his expertise and actually found him to be very compassionate. I see many comments here that say this clinic is expensive. It is, but so is vet care everywhere (again, in my experience. And we may have many factors to blame for that:​ I had already paid an incredible amount at other clinics that yielded no results. I paid a lot here too, but got the service I paid for: timely results, communication, and personalized support. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs full service and is struggling to find it.“
