    There are choices in life that are not easy to sometimes deal with including selling moving and downsizing your home. Next Step made what is so overwhelming easy. Not only did they come in declutter my home and pack it up to look spectacular in photos and showings to sell they help you through it all with great advice. In addition Next Step helped put some extra $$$ in my pocket by taking pictures posting and selling my unneeded furniture. Colleen and team are amazing 💕.

    Last Spring I found myself having to unexpectedly relocate my 79 year old mother from NY to CO (were I live). My mom has dementia and had just lost her husband of 20 years. Somedays she understood the process and other days she was confused. Her world was completely in flux and I was attempting to coordinate this relocation, purge and pack from 2,000 miles away. I flew back to NY every 3 weeks, but it was impossible to care for my mom, the Estate and all that this relocation entailed. I decided to hire a Home Relocation Company (I didn’t know they existed). I began an interview process (blindly). I interviewed various companies and decided to hire Colleen Mountford and her NEXT STEP HOME team on the spot! Colleen is professional and organized. She had many good ideas to make the process simplified and streamlined. My mother’s relocation was not an easy one (for her, for me or for other family members)...with over 40 yrs worth of accumulated belongings and plenty of (junk), Colleen and her team assured me they would be able to accomplish what seemed to be an impossible and awful sort, purge, toss, shred, donate, pack, etc. My step dads Estate was involved, we were a blended family and there was plenty of family tension as we deconstructed years of our parents lives. The constant questions became...What was going where? Who wanted what? What would be donated, tossed, kept, moved, relocated to family members around the country? There were plenty of moving pieces which had to coordinate!! Bleh, not fun or easy! 😜 It was complicated and at times overwhelming. Colleen frequently was my mind of reason and my sounding board. She reminded me she would take care of all of it, including making certain my mother’s car was picked up in NY and shipped to CO, so that I could fully focus on my mom’s needs. She dealt with stressful family situations, communicated with the realtor and so many other professionals as she and her team tackled this monumental process. Colleen was quite obviously a well seasoned expert in her profession. When I was not in NY, she communicated with me via calls, texts and emails and answered all my communications very promptly. It’s not easy to let strangers into your parents home, especially when a loved one has dementia. It would be very easy to take advantage of them. This would NEVER be the case with Colleen and her Team!! They were VERY honest, kind, compassionate, understanding and patient with my mom and all of her precious possessions. It was apparent that going the extra mile is not an unusual habit for this team. I’m a professional business woman myself and a protective daughter...I can assure you...selecting NEXT STEP HOME will be one of the best choices you could ever make when it comes to downsizing, purging, assisting elder relatives or moving yourself. They became our family and it was so difficult to say goodbye to each and every one of them.

    My husband and I were faced with moving from our four-bedroom home of 20 years to a much smaller townhouse. We had about six weeks to get organized: clear out not only the normal accumulations of all those years (including crazy-old stores in the attic, basement and garage), but also figure out what to keep, what to donate, what to sell, and what to throw away. We are seniors and my husband is not in good health so it seemed an impossible task. Until we found Next Step Home, moving managers extraordinaire. Colleen and her associates saved the day, cheerfully, efficiently and brilliantly. They helped us every step of the way, advising on all decisions, providing vendor recommendations, organizing clothes and furniture for donation and/or disposal, packing us up for our move, keeping our stress levels under control (not easy!), and much much more. We cannot recommend this company, and these wonderful people, more highly.
