You establish your barbershop, and then you have a set schedule with your barber, Micky,Claudio,Danny,Emilio & Ismael, all great barbers. And the music is not blasting, so you can hear your barber and carry a decent conversation or fall asleep on the chair lol“

“I've been coming here for the past four months and don't see myself going anywhere else. My hair is very thick and most places don't know how to make a nice fade with it. Knock is the only one who I can trust to work on my hair since I moved to downtown Brooklyn. I tried a different barber while I was hometown for the holiday (felt like cheating) and I awfully regretted it. I went straight back to Knock to fix it. He spent extra time to fix the damage that was done by the previous barber back home.“

“Been going to George's 2 on 5th Ave for a couple years now. I pretty much never have to wait, they listen carefully to what I want, make suggestions if I ask for them, and then get to work delivering a great haircut, every time. All of the barbers are consistent and talented, and they have very low employee turnover. They don't quiz me about how my day is going or where I'm from or what I do, which I really appreciate. That's not to say they're unfriendly - I genuinely feel like a welcome and valued customer every time - it's just that they're focused on doing the work well and making sure everybody walks out satisfied. I got my hair cut by Jon. He was professional, relaxed, and an excellent listener who was able to see one picture and recreate it almost perfectly (and arguably improve it!). He also explained some features of my specific hair (tendency to stick up, areas to pay attention to. etc.,) and recommended a great product without pushing or selling it.

It’s pricier than the Chinese salons surrounding it, but worth every penny to me. I would come back if I need another haircut in NYC, and would definitely recommend to friends.“
