We love Dr. Hardoun’s incredible knowledge base and skill, but also her lovely, patient and reassuring way with pets and owners. We have used this practice for everything from simple check ups to surgeries and have nothing but the best to report. We are thankful to have this practice within driving distance of our home for our family of pets.

I cannot recommend Dr Hardoon enough! The whole staff is so caring, understanding, and my dog had a wonderful surgical outcome thanks to their care. I came to Williston Park for an alternative spay with a preventative gastropexy and xrays of her joints. Dr Hardoon is one of the only vets on LI that is experienced in the OSS procedure and can do OFA positioned xrays. She was very supportive of my request for an ovary sparing spay and was happy to answer all my questions since this would be my first time with a dog having this procedure. I was offered many different surgical approaches, their cost/ benefit analysis, and I was allowed to make the ultimate decision. We elected to remove her uterus, her cervix, and one of her ovaries. We left her left ovary to preserve her reproductive hormones, but that ovary was chosen since it is easier to find if she should ever need it removed in her future. Dr Hardoon went over her personal experience with this procedure in terms of long term health of large breed dogs, as well as what published research was showing. I felt well educated and happy with my choice after our initial consult. She even went so far as to warn me what the post op experience would be like so I could prepare my house for my dog's 2 week rest. I was so happy to be at an office that supported my desire for the procedure, as well as their full support of me feeding my dogs raw. When I came in for the procedure the entire office was so welcoming. They sprayed calming pheromones to help my dog relax, played relaxing music, and gave us a room for the initial sedatives to take effect before taking my dog to the back. I was so impressed with the care they took to ensure my dog went under anesthesia with the least stress possible. After I left the staff was great with communication. They knew I had traveled for the surgery so they made sure to tell me how long it would take and where I could wait peacefully. When my dog was out of surgery Dr Hardoon called me personally to give me a brief on how the surgery went and when I could anticipate her being awake. The team knew my dog was large and I would not be able to carry her to my car, so they held her for me until she was awake enough to walk. I was very happy with the pain control offered by Dr Hardoon, which is a very important component for me personally. My dog received laser and acupuncture before going home and the staff made sure to provide me with both holistic and traditional pain meds for her. My GSD had a lot done during this surgery, so I expected discomfort. I was blown away that she was back to her normal self the very next day. As a veterinary assistant I know how much care and skill it takes during surgery to make this post op so smooth and I am extremely grateful. Despite the need for a very large incision to reach both the cervix and the stomach she healed very well. The incision looked great and was fully healed in 7 days without the need for antibiotics. I am always nervous entrusting my dogs to a new vet but I will absolutely be back in the future after such a positive first experience. If you are looking for a vet that believes in both alternative and traditional medicine, and caters a medical plan to include both, Dr Hardoon is great!
