With the almost nil Dominican population in White Plains, it's always great knowing this Dominican Hair Salon on Central Ave, has been here almost 20 years and thriving. Over the years, this salon has updated their spacious but bland look to a more polished one. Barber chair by entrance, styling stations and hair dryers with a wall dividing those- from the washing, hair treatment and roller area. I religiously depended on their hair treatments and deep washes every Sunday even going as far back when my daughter had long hair as a young teenager. But I stopped visiting all these years because Dominican hair salons notoriously will have a field day with your hair and start cutting like crazy. So I kept it simple for my Saturday visit with a deep treatment, roller+blow out set. Just so you know, your hair isn't getting washed with commercial, pharmacy store hair brands. Instead these ladies (as well as every Dominican hair salon out there) use a more exclusive lineup. Service is thorough, fast, attitude is sometimes short, abrupt and if you aren't Dominican, you just might find this downright rude. Or- just follow their beat. But don't despair- they're pleasant. Really. If you want sleek and shiny hair, going to a Dominican hair salon comes with a hefty price. I'm Dominican and I don't even know how to blow out my hair! These ladies will blow out your hair, use a magic blow dry smoothing serum, get the kinks out- making your edges nice, shiny AND flat while almost pulling your wholllllle body as far back as possible just to get to them. On top of that, the heat used is hot as f*ck- so brace yourself. Literally. This place is just a straight up Dominican salon and if you're tender-headed, this ain't for you. Bachata and Merengue ALWAYS play and the ladies will start dancing as they're rolling up your hair or blow drying. Again... don't despair. But if you're on board for a thorough hair wash, deep treatment, super reasonable prices and fabulous luxe results- this is the place for ALL types of hair.

I've been coming to this salon for about two months now, and I love it here. The ladies really know about hair are. My hair is healthy and it's growing -- and so is my daughter's. Whether I bring my own products or use theirs, my hair looks and feels great.
