My cat Luka started having serious problems and I took him to West Hempstead Animal Hospital where his care has always been top notch. The staff are helpful, friendly knowledgeable and caring. Even though he did not like being there at all, I always felt that he was in the best care. He started deteriorating quickly. Every time I called about something serious that was happening with Luka, I was given an appointment immediately. The doctors and technicians took time to examine him and explain every detail of what they were doing. I felt confident that he would be alright. Unfortunately after a rough week of tests and bloodwork we found out that he had inoperable cancer and there was nothing the doctors could do to prolong his life and/or make him comfortable. I was able to bring him home for one more day so our family could spend time with him. We brought him back the next evening when the hospital was empty where we were all treated with such compassion and dignity, especially our beloved Luka. He closed his beautiful eyes one last time with his family around him and I know he felt our love. As hard as it was for all of us I feel that Dr. Cutler and the staff made it a little easier to say goodbye. Thanks to all of you who helped Luka, and us, on this difficult and heartfelt journey.
I love Dr Devito. Took all my dogs and cat to her. She is very compassionate and honest. I stopped using her 5 years ago because I moved to Suffolk 10 years ago and didn't want to take the trip. I now have four dogs and have been contemplating going back to her because I have yet to find anyone I like half as much
We have been taking our lab mix, Sandy, to this vet since we adopted her 16 years ago. Thankfully our dog did not have too many health issues over the years so we did not really visit there much more than yearly for rabies vaccine etc. The past year our beloved girl declined and made it to the ripe old age of 18. We were at WH animal hospital more than ever. As the time neared to make the decision and euthanize, we considered having someone come to the house to have it done in the peacefulness of our home. However, we chose to take our old pup to to where they always gave her tremendous care and were amazed and truly appreciative for their sincere kindness and compassion during the euthanasia process. We will be forever grateful to them for this. We were so upset and they did all of the right things and said all of the right words. We hope they know how much we appreciated their support. The entire staff was always kind, compassionate and professional. They never pushed for extraordinary measures on our elderly pup and supported our decisions. They are all amazing and we thank them for all they have done for us. The Curtin Family
