“I had my second son in May 2020 (C-section at 36 weeks, born 5 lbs) - just 5 weeks after the Covid-19 Pandemic lockdown started. My first son was born almost 18-years prior in a different state. A lot had changed! When my first son was born, it was not a requirement to already have a pediatrician and to have said pediatrician to evaluate your baby prior to being discharged from the hospital. When we were told that information, I was caught off guard. With the pandemic in its scariest and most dangerous phase, no doctor’s office was accepting new patients and if so, they were not taking routine appointments. All I knew, after having taken my nieces and nephew to their pediatrician, was that I was not going to be bringing my child to Summerwood Pediatrics. I would have loved to continue care with my older son’s pediatrician, but she was retiring. That’s when the hospital recommended Madison Irving Pediatrics. I made a call to Madison Irving Pediatrics and the next morning we had the honor of meeting Charles “Bo” Rinn, MS, PNP-C. “Bo” was/is professional, intelligent, personable, accommodating, respectful, and best of all - has exceptional and genuine listening skills! We immediately knew that we were in good hands and had found the right pediatrician for our son. Bo evaluated our son and approved his discharge, and he even went above and beyond by scheduling his two week appointment for us. We were admittedly (ashamedly looking back) a bit nervous of the office location, but Bo had made such a great impression on us that we quickly put those thoughts aside. When we arrived at the office two weeks later, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the building had its own attached parking garage (no validated parking offered by the office) and front desk security. The office was conveniently located on the second floor which was quiet and clean. The office staff were friendly and informative, and the lobby had two waiting areas: one for healthy children and one for sick visits to keep the two areas and patient types as separate as possible. Both were very clean with plenty of decor to distract you from any wait times you may encounter - of which we had only about three minutes. We were called back right away by an appropriately educated nurse who was competent and capable. We were put into a patient room chock full of educational displays that looked as if they were arranged by STEM. Our wait time from that point to see the doctor was less than five minutes. Bo, again, was everything you want in a pediatrician (or any doctor!) and truly listened to our concerns, and he responded to them in the most thorough manner possible. He again, went above and beyond in addressing areas of concern and even referred and then scheduled appointments for us the relevant evaluations with specialists to further quell even the most “new preemie parent” far fetched concerns that we had. In fact, he has always been wonderful at listening and patiently responding to our thoughts - regardless of whether or not he agreed. That was unexpected and wonderful! We have been seeing Bo for four years now and we could not be happier. I would recommend him to anyone. I, like a lot of people, wrongly assumed that pediatric offices located in the suburbs were the superior choice in which the pediatricians there would be more in touch with our middle class lifestyle and child rearing ideals. I was wrong. I have Bo, Dr, Megan Campbell, and Madison Irving Pediatrics to thank for correcting my assumption bias and showing me how great a pediatric office and personnel can be - regardless of its location. Thank you!“
