We strongly suggest that if you use Concepts in Wood, you have a formal legal contract in hand, reviewed by your attorney, and including full reimbursement if terms of the contract are not met. Even the receptionist said to us, "If we treated all of our customers this way, we would be out of business."

I had Concepts In Wood make maple butcher block countertops for my kitchen and I absolutely love them! I was originally going to go with quartz but I’m so glad I didn’t. The cost was a 1/4 of what it would have been with quartz and they have the best pricing that I could find in CNY. The craftsmanship that went into these is amazing and they did such a good job. I picked them up and installed them myself and they fit perfectly with no adjustments needed! I finished them with OSMO Top oil, recommended by one of the guys. They were a pleasure to work with and did the work in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I was set to order kitchen cabinets from another reputable local company when my contractor, who had done a great deal of remodeling in my home, urged me to check out Concepts in Wood. Great call! The owner, David p, met with us to show us their cabinets and work area. Don't be fooled by the showroom or office area. These guys know what they're doing and should put my kitchen in their showroom! There were many unforeseen hurdles that would have been a catastrophe had I ordered cabinets which are made elsewhere. An unexpected beam was disclosed during demolition. Together we threw around different ideas and ended up hiding the beam in a bookcase behind my oven, it was David's ingenuity, experience and creative talent that made any snags that came around seem minimal and fixable, regardless of the undertaking. Being a local company in Syracuse, if there is a problem, they can and will fix it. The draws under my Thermador cooktop needed modification to accommodate a blower system necessary for the downdraft I selected. Without a hassle, and done immediately, they picked up the drawers, assessed the problem, modified the draws in a completely creative, customized way that was undetectable. Rich and Mel, two of his main staff cabinet makers, better described as artisans, were creative in helping me design the cabinetry to fit my space, making recommendations that changed and uniquely customized the design. I have gray painted cabinets along with black cherry accent pieces, contemporary hardware and pendent lighting. The design was customized to meet my needs, having back issues that prevent me from excess bending, and space somewhat dictated by the open design I wanted, David recommended a minor change in the opening to my kitchen which turned out to change the entire perspective of the design, making the kitchen appear much larger, when in reality it was minimally different than the previous kitchen in floor space. I highly recommend Concepts in Wood. Not only do they make high quality, dovetailed cabinets with beautiful and unique molding choices, they are helpful in planning the kitchen of your dreams and their cost came in substantially LOWER than local companies that send out to have their cabinets manufactured elsewhere. I owe my contractor for this great recommendation.
