Joyce Ramirez is an amazing advocate for the elderly. She is knowledgeable and patient. I would highly recommend contacting her if you have any questions regarding elderly care. Joyce is a gem and expresses sincere compassion. I heard of Joyce through a neighbor and I feel blessed to have met her. Joyce informed me about help for my elderly mom that has dementia. Joyce is a true asset to Sunnyside Community Service.

My mom has been with Sunnyside for over 15 years. They have been very helpful with my mom and the home attendants they send has always been good. There have been some little blips here and there but they were always there to help to fix any issues that arise. The staff, Marilyn, Winston and Diane have been wonderful and I want to thank them for all they do. Unfortunately due to a change of insurance, we had to change to another agency. Even though the new staff is very nice and try to help, they seem to be short staffed in home attendants. The very first weekend, no attendants showed up. It was terrible since I was away and my mom can’t get up by herself from the bed. Luckily I found someone and pay them to go and help my mom. Anyways we miss Sunnyside and we are looking into changing insurance and hopefully go back with them.

We were assigned to Sunnyside Agency in January 2019 to care for my sister who has Lou Gehrig’s disease. In the first few weeks, it was quite a trial and error of finding the right mix. To be honest, it was frustrating, and after I voiced my frustration about the aides to Sunnyside, I was given the contact of the “higher ups” at Sunnyside Agency.
