My mini horse had a very deep injury to his cornea, and after my regular vet saw him, she recommended GVEC. She contacted them and discussed Nick’s injury, and then we loaded him up for the trip. When we arrived we were greeted by several people who were all fantastic. ( not sure who was a vet, or vet tech….my brain was a bit foggy with worry). They sedated Nick and proceeded to examine his eye, after much discussion about the severity of the wound, prognosis and treatment choices, we made the decision to have his eye removed. Saturday night my horses came in for their feed and I see my geldings eye lid was cut and hanging over his eye. I called my vet and her answering machine said she was out of town til Tuesday, for emergency call GVEC. The man who answered was very polite and said the vet would call back with in 10 minutes or call back. She called back in 2 minutes. Said she would be here in an hour and she was. ( we're in Bristol ). Her name is Gabby. Very polite and professional. She examined Killian, thoroughly explained everything, sedated him and stitched his eye lid up. I can't say enough about Gabby. She totally impressed me. Not only taking care of Killian, but putting me at ease.
