Our son has been receiving therapy at Sensory Jim since June of this year. At that point his mobility was limited. The development of his motor skills were far behind that of similarly aged infants and his social engagement also limited. The sensory approach to therapy is an excellent compliment to more traditional forms of physical therapy. We are sure that his time spent with the entire team at Sensory Jim (Dr. Cheryl, Dr. Dana, and Tracy) positively contributed to his progression. From the first time we spoke to Dr Dana, we felt heard and understood. Our baby was born with low tone and was suggested to do PT after her discharge. We initially went to another clinic where we felt it was fine but something was off. The PT was knowledgable but was often not intuned with our baby. We have Dr Cheryl at Westchester PT and she has an amazing gentle touch, coaxing our girl but not forcing her into exercises when she is not ready for it. We have seen amazing improvements over the year and attribute it to Dr Cheryl. We are grateful for her guidance and for being our cheerleader through this process.
We cannot praise Sensory Jim enough. The services provided here are much more dedicated and engaging compared to Early Intervention. The space is both spacious and well-lit, and what’s even better is that there are typically only one or two children present at a time, ensuring a more private and focused experience than many other facilities. We are also impressed by Dr Dana’s selection of innovative toys here which never failed to capture my son’s interest. My son is very sensitive due to his autism, but he always enjoyed seeing Dr. Cheryl and Dr. Dana. We highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking an alternative or supplement to the EI program.
