“Came across this studio by happenstance and it was one of the best things that's happened. I was on a trip in NY in January in the freezing cold, ended up walking through ice and snow to find Stevie and Nel standing outside. They welcomed me in and really made me feel like family immediately, and Nel's work was killer. Had such a good time that I came back again a month ago with my wife during an anniversary trip and we were both able to get more work from the crew, this time Stevie and Johnny. I love American Traditional and this studio is full of that, as well as incredibly talented artists who specialize in that style. Always fun and laughs to be had here. Hilarious and SOLID people. Really hope to be back soon enough. Love you guys.

“I got my very first tattoo done by Moko at CJ Tattoo and I couldn't be happier with it. I didn't know what to expect but she made the process easy and it set me at ease as I got my tattoo. They have little snacks for you as you get your piece done and they have privacy screens to make you more comfortable. I travelled from Maryland to get this tattoo done specifically by Moko because I loved her work from the moment I first saw it and I knew she could create exactly what I wanted, and it was definitely worth the trip. From the initial booking request, they were so helpful and answered all of my questions through many back and forth emails. Gift took the time to understand my preferences and gave honest, thoughtful recommendations. The brows look so natural and flattering and the lip color is spot-on. Her skill, kindness and attention to detail made me feel like she really cares, making the entire process so comfortable.

“It was a great experience getting my eye brows done for the first time. I was very apprehensive about getting eye brows done and I wanted my eye brows done by a professional who understands my needs. Esther was wonderful and patient with explaining everything to me making me comfortable throughout the process. She understands every face is unique and she knows the best shape of brows to suit the individual. In addition to her professionalism, her place is very clean. She wears a PPE gown during the procedure and she have us take off our shoes which i really appreciate since in Asian culture we do not wear shoes in the house. :) Overall, I am happy with my brows and I am returning to get my touch up!“

I wanted to add some color for a couple of tattoos I previously had and I lucked out with Dymon. He was absolutely fantastic: very professional, friendly, patient and his work absolutely great! I'm planning to come back to do more body art with him.

“Had a great experience with Arjun this past weekend! I reached out to him with my design idea a few weeks prior and we were able to set a date. Once there it was an easy process getting set up and Arjun was prepared with questions and stencils, and helped me until I found the perfect size/placement. The tattooing itself was great, Arjun was gentle and let me know when it would get more painful. They were very accommodating and even offered to buy me dinner when we took a break. Very hospitable and kind, and the tattoo came out fantastic, I’m super satisfied and would recommend anyone come to this shop!

“I should’ve written this review when I went there. They were very friendly and helpful when the tattoo and piercing place in the Bronx were terrible. Red Baron is a great place to go to, the female staff, I believe her name is Lauren took care of me when my navel piercing was hanging down. She explained everything to me, she was very helpful. When I told her my situation with the other place when they told me to let the piercing fall out, even she explained that’s not what they were supposed to say. She was able to take out the piercing and waited a few months to get repierced by her, she did a great job. I would definitely recommend this place.“

“When I first met Claire I had no brows and a large forehead, which made having no brows look even crazier. I found Claire at Laurel on Instagram back in 2019 and obsessed over her content of the most gorgeous and natural and PERFECT brows I'd ever seen. She came at a small price but I knew the work she did was the best I'd find anywhere else. Also, she's warm and lovely and caring and cool and has a soft touch with heavy machinery. Claire gave me my dream brows. Seriously. I used to have to draw on, using multiple pencils and brushes and makeup, with a shaky hand no less, two eyebrows every single morning before I saw anyone besides my husband, and then touch them up a couple of times a day, or I'd feel "less pretty" which is silly, because I'm still awesome. But something like eyebrows that frame your entire face, can make all the difference—especially with your own confidence in your personal/professional life. Today, I wake up and have the most perfect brows already perfectly placed on my face and I no longer even own a brow pencil. Meeting Claire is by far the best thing I've ever manifested when it comes to beauty. She's a true artist, and a loving one at that. The Laurel studio is beautiful and clean and smells like palo santo. If you're really lucky you'll get to meet Louie too, the cutest pooch in the place. Go to Laurel if you want dream brows!
