Today was the day every equine owner dreads when I had to make the decision to humanely euthanize my 30 yr old mare who has been in my life for 29 yrs. She is the matriarch of the herd and I wanted to allow the others to be present during her passing allowing them to witness and mourn. Dr. Lucia was understanding and accepting of this and worked efficiently to sedate our Boss mare and allow the heard to be present during her passing. The staff has been wonderful and very patient giving my boy time to get used to new people and surroundings. They have a "visit" called "Happy Visits" where you schedule an appointment to allow the dog/cat to get more comfortable in the office with staff and equipment, I had never heard of it before but a great idea.“
