After repeated visits to our regular vet., and Bear still scratching and keeping me up at night, I decided I needed to do some homework and see if there was such thing as a veterinary dermatologist, and guess what, there is, that would be Dr. Jeanne Budgin, on the upper west side, not to far from Bear and me. I have to tell everyone how happy we are that we saw Dr. Budgin and her dedicated, wonderful team, so informative, and kind, they took such a detailed history about Bear! "Little things" like: rub your finger in her mouth with baby food so she gets used to your finger in her mouth. Now, at four years old, she allows me to brush her teeth with no problem. “Dr. Eldridge really cares about the animals. I've been to many vets and they all price gouge to the point where owners are forced to make decisions based on finances. To me those vets should not be in business. Yes, all great vets should make a great living, the money and time spent to become a veterinarian warrant that, but neither side should take advantage of the other. Be honest, pay great vets (like Dr. Eldridge) what they deserve, w/o manipulation, and any vets that read this should follow Dr. Eldridge's lead. “Dr Barotz is a real find. She is the best of both worlds; a Cornell Vet school graduate and extremely knowledgeable in a Chinese medicine approach. She believes in both, each complimenting and supporting the other. That's what I wanted and need for my best friend and little boy, Trooper. On top of that, she is happy to work with a patients' regular Vet and studies their medical records thoroughly. She has a gentle, caring manner and spends the time to fully explain her analysis, opinions and reasons for her recommendations. Dr Barotz has a 360 degree approach and the education, knowledge and experience to carry it out. I am so very happy to have her at our side through what is a very tough time. My Trooper has liver cancer. Thanks to her, I have a much better understanding of how I can give Trooper's body more support and comfort, as well as other options I might have for his care. “I changed from Yorktown Animal Hospital to Thornwood Animal Hospital due to the distance from my home, and it has proven to be the best choice for my pup. Dr. Patel and the staff are fantastic, caring, and always create a positive atmosphere. My dog usually gets anxious at the vet, but here he appears to be at ease and even enjoys the visits. The level of professional care is exceptional. When my pup fell ill, Dr. Patel personally called me with the analysis results and has consistently been available when needed.
