145 Palisade St, Dobbs Ferry“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Edge! I have 2 young children at Edge and they are thriving. Karate, overall, seems great for kids' development, but the team at Edge is extra special.
My children have had Senseis Eric and Jackie and both are really wonderful with young children. My Littles have wildly different personalities, and both are thriving due to the way Edge folks instruct, support, and guide them. The Senseis make the inherent challenge of karate (emotionally) safe and accessible to even young children. We are delighted to continue karate at Edge and tell our friends to come join us!“

The school is well-organized, communicative with parents, and has created a family-like environment for all its students. It also has a great waiting/seating area where you can watch your kid's class. The Masters train the kids with a healthy balance of discipline and fun and are very supportive and patient. There are also a lot of fun activities planned for the kids during the year like a spring picnic, holiday party, and a Halloween party. In general, I would highly recommend Tiger Kim's Taekwondo school for kids of all ages.“

96 Main St # A, Dobbs Ferry“Dobbs Ferry Karate's dojo has been an astounding place for growth, confidence-building, maturity, bonding, community and family for our now-first degree black belt since starting out as a white belt at age nine. From skills classes to training, experience as a senpei, weapons training, camp counselor experience and now as a sensei, Dobbs Ferry Karate has become a second home and is as much of a family to our sensei as family can be. The instructors, each with different teaching styles and techniques bring about many different strengths providing a diversity of learning experiences for those wanting to grow. And Shihan Chris is both tough and a guiding light for those who not only want to earn new belts but who also want to really excel and develop excellent standing and relationships with the dojo and staff. Our sensei depends on Dobbs Ferry Karate for a personal outlet, for zen, for exercise, for training, for friendship, and is looking very forward to training for more advanced belts. To top off Dobbs Ferry Karate as a pillar of martial arts in the Dobbs Ferry community, the school is also a fixture in the community offering camps and parent night out events, participating in local activities, and supporting area fundraising activities. Having deep generational roots in the area, this family-owned business is well respected by the community.“

“I (and my son (7 years old) have been training at 5150 for more than a year. This is a truly amazing place and I highly recommend it to anyone. For years, I tried a number of places to continue learning MMA; however, it never worked until I found Professor O'Keeffe. He is caring, thoughtful, skillful, fun, and tough all at the same time, which is a rare combination. He has a contagious love for jiu-jitsu and the innate ability to teach. My son also loves going to train. He has learning valuable skills (on and off the mat), has gained confidence and has fun. Professor Shapiro not only teaches valuable skills but also makes the classes fun and engaging. All and all, my family feels very lucky we found 5150 and recommended it to everyone.“
