I am a swing dancer and it was looking like surgery was the only option to help my arthritic knees. Dr. John Schneider (who was recommended by my surgeon) helped me avoid that. But it is his compassion and ability to really listen that I am most grateful for. I have found that kind of "bedside manner" is difficult to come by. UPDATE: Unfortunately I did end up needing surgery but I still recommend Dr. Schneider.

20 years ago, when I lived in NYC I went to Wayne Winnick for trigger point therapy, for my hip area. Prior to seeing Dr. Winnick, I saw another chiropractor, who said that I’d have to wear a lift in my shoe the rest of my life, because “one leg was longer than the other”. After reviewing that Dr’s X-ray’s, I clearly recall Winnick saying, “according to his X-rays you DO have this condition, but I can probably make it go away in 6-months with NO shoe lift, if you stay the course, and listen to me”.
