I found River Spa completely by accident. I was on an errand and was on my way to another local place to do reflexology and passed by Dr. Li's spa. Good thing I did because I ended up doing a 20 minute back massage and realized how bad I needed it and how quick she was able to alleviate some of the pain I didn't know I had. The reflexology was a bit different from what I'm used to. If you are expecting a traditional foot rub or a foot massage, the experience will not match those expectations exactly. I feel it's better because it's targeted to those points on your foot that are the source of pain. It's acupressure for your foot. And It's a therapeutic, targeted and methodical treatment. They do pamper your feet don't get me wrong. You'll start off with a hot medicinal bath for your feet. Dip in slowly as the temperature takes time to get used to but the heat is what activates the medicinal value of the bath. In other words, it hurts so good! While your feet are soaking, you will be wearing this amazing eye massager. Where can I get one of these? It's looks like a bulky pair of ski goggles that vibrates all around your eyes. I nearly fell asleep with those on. Then the reflexology and some massage of your feet and legs. At the end it was relaxing - my back felt better, my feet were on air and I'm going back to see Dr. Li and her team soon to take care the rest of my back. Really nice lady and they seem to really care about your well being. They also seem to have a loyal local and celebrity following even though they don't advertise much. I couldn't find them on Google Maps. Their store signage doesn't have River Spa but just Natural Body Care (which Dr. Li said she hopes to change soon) I feel like I stumbled upon a secret gem which won't be so secret anymore.

There are no words that can fully describe the totality of the body work, acupuncture and all the other modalities employed by Dr. Li to promote healing and well being for her clients. Whatever your problem--muscle and body pain, allergies, weather sensitivities, cramps, just to name a few--she can handle it all. Do not let the modest appearance of the location fool you. This is not just another fly-by-night cookie-cutter massage place. Dr. Li is an experienced health professional who has had years of experience and can address a multitude of problems. I feel extremely grateful to have found her and to have her as my doctor and friend, and so will you.
