Don't even bother bringing up the sliding scale she claims to have. She "unfortunately has no more sliding scale availability these days." And as soon as you bring it up, any other questions you made along with the question of cost will be ignored, and she'll suggest you go to see students for free care. So unless you're able to shell out at least $300 cash per appointment, don't bother. And if you are, why aren't you going to someone with a real track record of excellence?

Yikes. Seems intelligent and potentially good, but unless you are able to pay her full rate ($300+) don't even bother reaching out to her. As soon as you mention sliding scale she gets frosty. She says she has no availability for sliding scale appointments and suggests you try free care from students instead. And if you asked any other questions in your email to her in addition to the sliding scale question, she will completely ignore them. I was really surprised at how different her personality is when she thinks you've got money and will be paying her $300+ rate and when you mention sliding scale implying you're simply middle class.
