I couldn't have been more disappointed in this doctor. I have been to many chiropractors over the years because of lower back pain. He is the first one who absolutely refused to manipulate my back and put my spine in alignment. He treats all his patients with electrodes and Ben Gay. After seeing him a number of times I'm still in pain. He only wanted me to keep coming back for his ridiculous treatments. He likes to grab his payments though. He may be very friendly and likable, but his performance, as a chiropractor is pitiful.

STAY AWAY! This is highway robbery. After spending some time looking for a chiropractor I ended up here after being swayed by all the 5-star reviews on ZocDoc. Dr. Kansao tries to reel you in on all accomplishments within the sports field back in his days with an outdated printout pamphlet. On the first visit, he asks if I had ever been to another chiro before, this was my first time. He showers you with all these plans he has for you and how he cannot do an adjustment yet because he needs more time (1st. Red Flag). After speaking with him for the first half of my appointment, I was ready to move on to some actual work. This consisted of a Theragun massage for a few minutes and then hooked on a TENS Electronic Pulse Massager( nothing special). He then left the room to attend to other patients. He attended to multiple patients at the same time in some of the smallest rooms I had ever been in, not to mention getting treatment in them (2nd Red Flag). After my FIRST visit before checking out the reception hands over a form to leave a review and permission to publish on ZocDoc. Of course at first, after hearing his plans everything sounded so swell, and went to checkout with a very positive attitude, and I relayed all that on my review. I came back a few times after only to feel the opposite about his practice. It was a waste of time. I relayed to him about my upper and lower back pain which I wanted to address. He would then give me a request to get x-rays but only for my upper body. It takes time to get these appointments- since his office does not do x-rays (3rd. Red Flag). I got to the x-ray office and called him to ask if I should also do the lower back x-rays since I was already there, he insisted I didn't so I followed his instructions. In the following appointment, I show up and do minimal Theragun massage and applied Bengay on my back. Then tells me he wants to request an x-ray for my lower back at a separate appointment. (4th Red Flag). Clearly, he is milking the referral system/ insurance by booking separate appointments instead of doing all that is necessary all at once. It felt like such a waste of time, the actual sessions with him are less than what I could do at home and had been doing and on top of that, he was wasting time instead of trying to treat me with a sense of urgency. Don't forget he is going in and out of multiple rooms that are no bigger than an NYC closet. Big regret going off the ZocDoc rating(which you cannot change FYI), it was so misleading because like myself his practice gets you to leave that review for all these platforms only after your first visit which does not reflect the following appointments that really fall flat of what a session with a professional chiropractor should be. What brings me to this review, is I had an opportunity to get treatment under a different chiropractor and it was exactly the opposite of this experience. The chiropractor attends to you solely. Does not leave the room to attend to other patients. Was able to take x-rays on-site, this is a huge plus. Also performs adjustments as needed after a careful and thorough evaluation of you physically. The room was also big enough to walk around and spread your arms. Save your money, go elsewhere, this place is a joke.

Had been putting off going to the chiropractor for nearly 6 months and just had my first consultation with Dr. Kansao this week for ongoing back tightness and pain. I was also able to get an appointment super quick which was an added bonus rather than waiting 3 weeks to be seen like other doctors I have been to. As a former college athlete and someone who still works in college athletics currently, I can 100 percent say that Dr. Kansao is the real deal. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced and really took the time to listen to my needs and issues which I appreciated.
