I've had good experiences coming here with my Pekingese. The Asian man (unsure of his name) is friendly and always does a great job - I would say Nino gets one of better cuts he's had from him. I'm unsure how competitive the pricing is - I've only taken Nino here as well as the Unleashed Spa in the East Village, and those two places are priced similarly - but I've always been happy and intend to continue to bring my pup here as it's closer to my house than Unleashed, and he always gets the same groomer which is a bonus. Im a 15 year seasoned well experienced and talented pet stylist and love that we are a small exceptional quality and caring based team that can absolutely promise drama free top quality service and as an employee I've never been happier with our clients, all of them (people dogs and cats ) and am truly blessed to service this wonderfully perfect neighborhood and the people that travel to us !

This is my first Yelp review ever--I've never been moved to review anything before but Downtown Doghouse deserves a glowing review. Their customer service is excellent and the quality of grooming is top-notch. My 50-pound sheepadoodle LOVES coming to see Veronica for his bath or haircut once a month. My dog is extremely hyper and a lot to handle but Veronica manages him with ease and grace and he always comes out looking adorable (and smelling great!). Icing on the cake is that their location is walking distance from my apartment.
