The glowing reviews are accurate. I brought two pairs of jeans to Dejavu to be hemmed. The owner, Kai, is no-nonsense and pleasant to deal with. There were no upsells like other tailors. The price for hemming two pairs of jeans was very reasonable. The turnaround time was fast. The jeans were ready for pickup in 2 days. The work was excellent. The only thing I would recommend to Kai is to give the clothes a quick pressing before returning them to the customer. My jeans came back very wrinkled. I gave them a quick steaming myself and they were perfect. This is nothing to complain about in light of the very reasonable prices he charges.

Visited this place for my dress alteration during my trip. I got 2 lovely dresses in petite size, but both were still too long for me. I checked google review and Dejavu Tailoring had the most number of and best review so decided to go. Met my expectation. Price was fair considering it's NYC. Approx. 50 USD for one pair. I paid extra 10 to get it done faster as I had a plan to wear soon. Maybe the price chart would help. The quality was great! Both dresses are made of thin, satin like material but I found no problem after alteration. On the day of the tailoring appointment, I had to wait for 30mins and there were other customers who have been waiting for a while.... read full review

I was suggested to Kai through word of mouth and I am beyond satisfied with his work. I'm not a suit person, but he was able to turn an older unloved suit that I hadn't worn in years, into something that I feel confident wearing. He has a precise eye for measurements and style, most importantly he has a good turnaround time. He's open to your concerns and easy to work with. Check him out! He might have the answers you're looking for.
