Dr. Dolorosa has been a wonderful vet to our cats. We took them in to have their teeth cleaned, and one needed extractions, which were performed really well. Dr. Dolorosa is a true professional. When we went back with one cat a year or so ago because we had been advised by another professional to do so, Dr. Dolorosa, instead of just taking the opportunity to do a cleaning said that we could and should wait. We appreciated her honesty so much, as cleanings are, justifiably, a considerable expense. We will be returning to her to get our cats' teeth cleaned again. It is great to work with someone whom you can trust on all levels.
Dr Doloroso and her team have taken excellent care of our two cats. On one occasion it was for tooth cleaning and, for one cat, tooth extractions. Both cats came out of this very well. On another we took in our cat on the advice of another vet for further teeth cleaning and after examination Dr Doloroso said he was fine for the present and did not take our money. So we have both high respect and appreciation for her. Thank you Dr Doloroso!
This review is a long time coming. When I moved to New York 5 years ago, it was so convenient to have Dr. Doloroso just around the corner. She took my cat, Akira's vitals and blood work, and when we received the initial panel--she explained to me that he was showing the beginnings of kidney disease. Our fight to prolong Akira's life began. She explained to me that there was no reversing the disease, that our best course of action was to start him on a KD diet, and give sub-q fluids. We took his blood work every 6 months, he had several "crashes" but then would respond again to his sub-q and become stable. As I moved around neighborhoods in New York and Brooklyn over the years, Akira and I kept going to Dr. Doloroso. From day 1, she showed nothing but care and compassion for his health and comfort. She is direct and knowledgeable, able to explain things clearly so I'd understand exactly what to change. Akira was able to maintain a very high quality of life for the next 4.5 years. I had to say goodbye to him this weekend. From the bottom of my heart, I know Dr. Doloroso helped give us many more quality years to my baby's life. We got so many more nights of cuddles, so many more laughs, and that time together was priceless. Sub-cutaneous fluids is easy to learn to administer, supplements were easy to give. You want a vet like Dr. Doloroso to be direct and honest with you, and knowing I did everything I could to extend time together means the world. Thank you, Dr. Doloroso and her staff for being the best.
