“Dr. Justin Chen was thorough when he did a physical check to determine the cause of my Nay’s hip pain. What I appreciate the most is that, like my PCP, Dr. Chen himself called twice to share the blood test results. He added tests for iron, B12 and vitamin D levels after ruling out rhabdomyolysis from the first set of tests.

Doctors who do not delegate calls to inform their patients regarding blood test results, like Dr. Chen and my PCP, undoubtedly distinguish themselves from the rest of their counterparts!Nowadays, they are rare!!

Before having consulted with Dr. Chen, I concluded that my PCP was the only doctor who calls to convey test results. My PCP belongs to my baby boomers’ generation. Dr. Chen is generations younger; hence, he’s a gem of a find in my book!“

“I started using this place because of knee pain. My fifth visit will be today at the Baybridge location. This is on the second floor of a small shopping center, but there is an elevator to reach it. The space is clean and well-lit with large windows with a view of the water and Throgs Neck Bridge. This allows some diversion while using the machines. Patients do not have a dedicated staff member and one might encounter different people at visits. One staff member seems devoted to going around and cleaning the bed/tables and machines after use. The therapists are knowledgeable and explain things well. I have noticed improvement with the elimination of pain, but I have a ways to go with climbing steps. My sessions are one hour.“

This was my first visit to Dr. Li’s office after being urgently referred to a uveitis specialist by my ophthalmologist—and I walked in feeling nervous, half-blind in my right eye, and full of questions. From the moment I stepped into the office, everything just clicked. Check-in? Easy as pie. Even though my interaction with the front desk was short (because the moment I walked in everything was already handled—just had to sign one quick form), I have to say: the women behind the desk were everything. Warm smiles, friendly vibes, and total competence. They were like the welcoming committee for this medical dream team—setting the tone with “you’re in good hands” energy before I even had the chance to sit down. Literally. I was just about to park myself in the waiting room when Darwin swooped in to bring me to the back. Now let’s talk about Darwin—this man is a GEM. Professional, knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely listened as I explained my symptoms. He asked all the right questions, got what I like to call my “eye vitals,” and when I mentioned the pressure and near-complete vision loss in one eye, he didn’t skip a beat—he checked my eye pressure right away and went straight to consult with Dr. Li. He also made me laugh, which was much needed. Like, give this man a raise and a trophy. Enter Dr. Li—poised, brilliant, and an absolute boss in the best possible way. She walked in with such calm authority and compassion, I instantly felt at ease. She took her time, examined my eyes in every way imaginable, asked thorough questions, and didn’t rush a single moment. When it came time to make the call on whether to send me to a specialist or perform an emergency procedure right there—she trusted her instincts, chose to act, and walked me through every single step so I knew exactly what to expect. Her communication was top-tier and her hands? Steady and confident. The whole procedure? Seamless. I left that office feeling like I had just been taken care of by the Beyoncé and Jay-Z of ophthalmology. Seriously. I trusted them implicitly and still do. It’s rare—RARE—to feel so safe, heard, and cared for on a first visit, especially in a situation that could’ve been downright terrifying. If you’re considering Dr. Li’s office, stop thinking and GO. They’re efficient, compassionate, and make you feel like you’re more than just a chart number—they make you feel like you matter. Because you do. People may not always remember what you did, but they’ll always remember how you made them feel—and Dr. Li, Darwin, and even the fabulous front desk team made me feel seen, safe, and supported. “I tried Oak Street Health in KC, MO. They are AARP approved, therefore accepted Medicare and United Health Care. The commercials prompted me to check them out. My first visit was very thorough. Lots of tests to get the baseline. They stated they wanted to see me every 3-4 months. They also referred me out for bone density, electrocardiogram, cat scan, etc., for follow up to make sure my previous tests from my former residence in another state were tracked. For some reason, where I wanted my referrals to be sent, OSt Health could not get the correct referral numbers and I had to get the fax numbers and call Ost Health back to restart the process. Once my tests were completed, I received calls to discuss the results, but always talked to the nurse and not the Dr. And, after many times in returning their calls, always having to be transferred, I finally got the direct number to my local office. The first person i saw was not there on my second visit. Then when making my third visit appointment, another Dr was assigned to me. I now am choosing to go with a hospital system that is all inclusive, where everything is in one vicinity and all my information is within one system. Although Oak Street Health is good for some, I feel they, being the middleman, are too much bother for my preference.“
