I've visited Dr. Yao several times in the course of 2 years and has done a couple of procedures. Her bedside manner is nice and she is good with certain things such as dry eye treatments that no other Dr suggested to me and worked, however you won't be memorable to her and you always feel rushed! In fact since she has moved to Massapequa from Mineloa, her staff would cancel my procedure last minute because they overbooked appts despite my vision being compromised and waiting several weeks or they would always call to see if I can come earlier (at least 3 occasions this has happened) and if I did come earlier, it wouldn't make a difference. Agree with negative reviewers and would not even give Yao a star if at all possible, breezed in on a pre-op visit (waiting time took hours longer than the 1 minute to spit out her spiel on what insurance would not pay, adding insult to injury, gave a piece of paper which supposedly detailed what we discussed (DID NOT!!!), and was billed for her very brief appearance.

Worst experience ever with any physician I've ever known. My mom saw Dr. Michelle Yao for an eye procedure, and she gave her no verbal directions for aftercare. Instead, she handed her some sheets of paper not even related to her procedure. Mom had some complications a few days later, and we called Dr. Yao 4 or 5 times over the course of a week, and neither she nor her office ever returned our calls. The final attempt at calling I used the emergency option to press 1, and the best the staff could do was keep me on hold 15 minutes then asked me for a good return call number.
