worst place of all time. took 2 months, scammed us out of 2.2k and then told us about another problem after we got it back. I hope nobody ever goes to this place and if you do, good luck having a good experience. they need to be closed and shut down

Stay clear of the new Barsan (I think it is now Dr. Jack's Auto repairs of Merrick). John retired and they have new mechanics. Only the sign is the same. This is not the BarSan Merrick has known, loved and trusted. This month I have had three cars in for regular maintenance that never gave me trouble when John maintained them and within one week of getting them back from the new BarSan one broke down (cost over $1,000 to repair after getting towed there), one had to be brought back in and cost over $1,500 and isn't running now (definitely not bringing it there) and the third also had to be brought back in and cost nearly $700. Avoid at all costs (which are guaranteed to be a lot if you go there.)
