“If you are reading this review, you most likely have a pet. The word "pet" minimizes the relationship, the bond you have established with this, albeit furry member of your family. VCA Shaker acknowledges their patients by extending a tender approach in their care. My late chihuahua, a rescue, gave us joy for seventeen years. She survived the early onset of a heart condition because the staff of VCA Shaker monitored her condition and provided treatment that would ensure a quality of life for her remaining days. After she crossed the rainbow, Shaker sent condolences, a card signed by every member of the staff who had experienced an exchange with our "fur girl." That makes VCA Shaker more than a business (by the way it is owned by Mars - yup the candy maker) it's a pet sanctuary.“
“Reasons for 5 stars for All Dawgs: 1) Effective, 2) Humane, 3) Friendly, 4) Fun, 5) Accommodating.

In February I had an aggressive 5 yo mini-Aussie that hated other dogs and bit me 2x. Four short months later I now have a dog that pays attention to me even in the presence of other dogs and doesn't growl even when I pick up a piece of steak from between her front paws. And best of all, she's never been happier or more confident.

Poppy loves people but she began developing resource guarding and leash reactivity as a puppy. She breezed through puppy class but remained unusually dominant and willful (not my first dog, or even my first herding dog.) I hired a professional trainer recommended by my vet. His methods were effective in the short run but so harsh it left her with trachea damage and put me off professional training.

Summer 2023 I finally decided I had to find another professional. I was wary. I did my homework and enrolled in All Dawgs in-home dog-to--human aggression training. Before that could start Poppy bit me hard, really attacked me, when I absentmindedly reached for her bone from under a chair just a few hours after she tore her second ACL. Yes, she was in pain, but the aggression was not new.

Her aggression worsened over the long post-surgery convalescence. She lunged at me more than once when I tried to put her cone back on, teeth bared. I was heartbroken and afraid.

When she was well enough for training, I was nearly bitten again trying to muzzle train her (my fault). LuAnn was so great about it. She gave me another week to train muzzle-train her, which I did per their video. It was our first triumph. Our first at-home lesson was in late February 2024. Results were immediate. No joke. The progress was so fast I began to practice without her muzzle by the end of the first week. I also enrolled her in Reactive Rover (muzzled), a class with other leash reactive dogs. Scary.

Poppy graduated from both aggression classes with gold stars and a new attitude. We followed up with a Dawg Manners, a regular obedience class with other dogs in the room. I felt imposter syndrome, pretending she was just another dog. But she was great. She growled a little when a puppy bounded into her personal space, but a small verbal correction was all she needed. In fact, she began looking forward to going to All Dawgs. At this point she jumps out of the car with great excitement and would bound through the front door if she had her way.

We are now in Real World Obedience, a class that meets at remote locations like parks. On the very first day of class somebody's loose puppy crashed directly into Poppy at full speed (of all the dogs in that park!). No warning. Bam! Both the instructor and I nearly had a heart attack. Poppy was surprised but showed no aggression and settled right down. What a test. What a triumph!

We're also taking Intermediate Obedience. Poppy is calm, obedient, even relaxed in a closed room with half a dozen other dogs. She still likes her personal space, but it's three feet, not thirty feet.

Poppy finally has the owner she needs and I have the dog I knew she could be. Thank you, All Dawgs.“
“I took my long haired cat to get groomed today by their groomer named Cat or Kat. The staff was super friendly, the service took less time than expected, and I found the pricing to be very fair considering what was done. I can already tell my boy feels a lot better and is matte free!“

“Good animal hospital. Helpful employees. Small facility ,nice people willing to help you with your animals.“
“When our dog collapsed in the park, we had no idea what was wrong. Miller got us in quickly and got to the bottom of his heart condition. They provided excellent care and were honest about his prognosis, without pushing us to make any decisions regarding his care. The doctors and staff at Miller always went the extra mile to take our phone calls or get back to us quickly if we left a voicemail. We are so appreciative to have worked with Miller Animal Hospital.“
“The vets are great, but the rest of the staff is also amazing.

I drive past three other vets to get to this one.“
“The staff at Cornerstone Veterinary hospital first saw my cat Christy when I walked in with a medical emergency and immediately evaluated her. I realized after talking to the tech that took her back said that they weren't but that they never turn away a pet and only evaluated her to make sure she was well enough to travel and suggested the nearest ER that was suited for the neurological issue she was having and they didnt charge me for the evaluation. Christy is now a patient at Cornerstone and I can't say enough about the gentle and professionaland care she was given by Dr Monast and her assistant at her first appt! Christy is recovering nicely!“
“My dog LOVES this place! That’s the highest recommendation I can give. He has been boarded here and goes to daycare. The staff are friendly, attentive, and you can tell they love animals. My dog gets all excited as soon as I pull into their parking lot. We both highly recommend A Time for Paws.“
“We had to put our 15 yr old cat to rest. We had never been to this vet before as we recently moved to Troy. I must say, their level of compassion and respect is unbelievable. About a week after I picked up his ashes, I received a card from the them that everyone in the office had signed. I never in all my years of saying goodbye to beloved pets have I received a sympathy card from the vet staff. I look forward to a long relationship with this vet with our other 2 boys. If I could give 100 stars I would!“
“I had went to get my rabbit checked (his first time ever in a vet) and the whole staff was very sweet and welcoming and the doctor he had she made sure he was calm and was very patient with him :)“
