“My neighbor recommended AK Paving for my small driveway project. The project consisted of removing 3 layers of asphalt and repaving, add a Belgium block apron, and leveling a prefab concrete trench drain so vehicles can enter garage smoother. When the owner, Alex Lino surveyed the job, he suggested building up the cement walls of the trench as the original installer pitched the trench properly and addressed the ~3" step up when vehicles entered garage with anchored perforated platforms. Secondly, the driveway is both on a decline slope into garage but also on hill, so you are dealing with 2 angles if that makes sense. Lastly, vehicles entering or exiting top of driveway always bottomed out either the front of the air dam or rear undercarriage. Previous owners tried cutting away and repair with cold patch as seen in pic. What an eyesore. The projected started on time as scheduled and the team of 3, 4, or 5 people depending on phase of project were professional with various skillsets. I watched probably 95% of the project and learned a lot and their meticulous workmanship. It took 3.5 days to complete. Alex is very conscientious and extremely knowledgeable mentioning his 30 years of expertise is any complex stonework which he prefers, concrete, and asphalt paving. What's also important about the company is the front office is staffed properly and any email communication has always been answered within 24 hours but typically within the same day. The proposal presented to me was very competitive and met scope. I highly recommend AK Paving for your project needs in vision, budgetary, and timeline requirements“

“We had a fantastic experience with this Santiago Martos, which started with his initial visit to discuss the project: a full kitchen and basement remodel, plus some major plumbing work to replace aging black pipe. By that time, we had already gotten three estimates. While he was here, he asked questions that no previous contractor thought of, carefully went over the project parameters, and gave us a verbal estimate. The next day, he emailed a formal estimate, which was the basis of our contract.

When the job commenced, a full crew arrived and worked every day (even some Saturdays) until the job was completed, which took about a month. The crew was fantastic; great camaraderie and everyone had a good skill set. They did terrific work, and cleaned up at the end of each day.

When unexpected things happened---like, for example, when removing walls it was revealed that there was a plumbing line in the way that necessitated extra work---Santiago explained various options to us and went over pricing before proceeding.
