Funeral Services And Cemeteries in Kingston picked by BestProsInTown

“I have prepared a few funerals in Kingston throughout the years. This is the first time using Joseph Leahy Funeral Home, and I am so glad that I did. This funeral was for my mother and, of course, it was emotional and my bandwidth was limited. Bernie and his staff were phenomenal. They took so much off my shoulders and it turned out to be a beautiful celebration of my mother's life. Everyone in the family felt comfortable right down to the children. From the building accommodations to the mass and even the drive in the limos to the mausoleum, it was all comforting and so fitting for the vibrant woman she was. It means a lot when we can grieve the loss of our loved ones. It is evident that Bernie and his son and staff were meant to help families and loved ones during this time.“

“Working with Keyser was professional and caring, an important combination in such a difficult time.
They handled so many details from the first meeting through when the actual burial occurred for my 98 year old father.
They also house the setup for, in Jewish tradition, the Ulster County Chevra Kadisha to perform Tahara.
Hopefully, I have a long way to go but have already made arrangements for my own funeral through them.“

Montrepose Cemetery Funeral Services And Cemeteries

“I never thought that I would write a review on a cemetery. But I recently visited Montrepose Cemetery. I have been there many times over the years. We have family who reside there as their final resting place. But once in a while, I visit for a more extended time, because I might do some needed Maintenance. So I spent some time trimming a small tree and sprucing up head stones. Since I can now visit at more flexible times than before, I now hear and see others visiting, that normally I would not pay much attention to. I got to see the maintenance crew doing what they do, that I normally never witnessed before. Of course I got to see people also visiting loved ones. But I also was able to listen to the birds and smell flowers, trees and such. Somehow I never payed as much attention to them, because I was only focused on one thing. I also noticed people walking. I even witnessed a woman running around the routes through the property.I realized what a nice place this is for the tranquility and quiet. It really is like a park. Although it has a lot of very different features than your typical park. I also realized the safety aspect of walking or running in such an environment. Yes the tranquility and quiet is in of itself a great reason to visit. But the safety of not being on busier roads makes it nicer yet. I guess what I realized was that the Montrepose Cemetery really does have more uses than what one would normally think about. It's a beautiful park environment for our loved ones. But it seems they are willing to share it with others.“
