I personally would like to thank Dr. Alden for taking our golden retriever Bear as her client. I spent thousands of dollars at another veterinarian office locally and when my dog had a problem they could not see him. He’s a larger dog and when he woke up in the morning, he could not walk on one of his legs. I called our veterinarian and their respond was they couldn’t see him that day, they were too booked up. Right away I started calling veterinarian offices and called Kingston Animal Hospital. Thank you very much Dr. Alden for seeing bear and taking care of him that day. It was something very simple. He just had an abscess inside of his paw. I’ve had a few emergencies...read full review
Best vets in the area! Everyone is so sweet and they genuinely care about your pet, we're always welcomed with a smile. I haven't seen any of the new vets yet but Dr Alden, Dr Turner, (both women) and Dr Rugg are all excellent and up to date with their continuing education. Dr Turner was the vet who performed the spay on my little girl Arabella when she was 6 months old (Arabella is a cat). Dr Turner was so sweet and good with her and she answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. We had her pre-op bloodwork done, got a very informative page that told us how to help prep for her surgery, the hours we could drop her off and pick her up, an estimate for the spay and scheduled her spay the same day for a month later. Drop off went smoothly and Dr Turner called me to let me know how well the surgery went and told me what time I could pick her up the next day. Arabella came home without any issues (just groggy and out of it from being under sedation which is to be expected) and Dr Turner had given us a 3 day dose of pain & anti inflammatory meds to keep my little girl comfortable plus some instructions on what to expect when she's home, things to look out for, and her limitations while she's healing, etc. Not to anyone's fault I noticed 3 days later the start of a minor reaction and Arabella was seen by Dr Alden. Dr Alden thoroughly explained everything that was going on and I learned a lot about the healing process, she gave us the option of a long lasting antibiotic shot or pills we could give over the course of a couple of days. We opted for the shot as it was what she recommended. After that, everything went smoothly and you can't even tell that Arabella was ever spayed; she has no scars or scar tissue whatsoever. I really couldn't be happier with everything these wonderful people have done for us. Fantastic team with excellent communication, they're excellent at getting you an appointment ASAP, they're properly staffed and everyone has been trained and is amazing at their jobs. The cherry on top is that their rates are very reasonable especially considering the overall quality and value of this practice and everyone on their team. I can't recommend them highly enough! Also to address another review, Dr Turner doesn't own the practice, she was there before the renovations. Dr Rugg has owned KAH since the beginning and he has been a huge influence in the local veterinary medicine world, he helped create the Emergency Animal Hospital clinics (like the one on Morton Blvd). I don't know exactly what happened but it appears that maybe KAH was brought into a larger group of vet practices owned by someone outside of the office. I honestly haven't noticed any negative changes or effects though, the only differences are the nicely renovated interior and new uniforms for the team. The care, welcoming atmosphere is still the same and the prices seem to be the same or about the same as well.
