Old school values of being the local vet, not a corporation. Very experienced, knows his stuff. Staff too. All very caring, nice people. Simply love animals. What more could you ask for. Oh! Reasonable costs. Highly recommended but sadly he's retiring.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Southard. He is incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. I have always felt so comfortable taking my pets to him. My pets have enjoyed excellent health under his care. He is very thorough and takes time to fully explain options, often recommending the least invasive and costly options first, while letting you know exactly when a more aggressive approach is warranted. His staff are always so kind, pleasant, and accommodating. Office hours are generous and convenient. You will not be sorry you trusted your beloved pets to Kinderhook Animal Hospital.

I'm a little ashamed I never wrote a review before now. Dr. Southard took care of our lab years ago and our beagle Molly for the past 13 years. Molly was our empty nest dog, so she was a bit like an only child. We would call the office about everything! Cassie joined their team several years ago and she and Dr. Southard have always been compassionate, patient and kind. Today our Molly crossed over in our arms in their office. They were so wonderful with us and I know they felt our sadness. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
