Great experience in the Canine Good Citizen class. My dog learned several commands and got great, positive socialization with other dogs and people
Before we met Dawn we couldn’t take Ella anywhere due to her stranger and dog reactivity. She would just bark and bark (and it wasn’t a very welcoming bark either). Dawn was great with Ella. She gave us life changing advice and introduced us to the tools we needed to help Ella. Today we were able to take Ella to a small 4th of July party and she met two new dogs for the first time and had zero issues with them! She also swam to strangers in the pool and let them hold her! She was PERFECT! I could cry tears of joy because I never thought this would be possible! Thank you Eye of Oden!
I’ve been working with Dawn for a few months now. When we first brought Samson to her, I wasn’t sure how things would work out. Samson was aggressive towards other dogs. I was extremely embarrassed how he behaved the first time we brought him there. He was barking, growing, lunging and hair standing at her dog who just sat there ever so patiently and didn’t so much as bark or move. We started with four private lessons. Dawn taught us how to recognize when he was getting to that point and how to stop it and redirect him before he started acting a fool. After four private lessons she said he was ready to try classes with other dogs. So, we started with the first CGC class. I’m not going to lie, I was very apprehensive about bringing him into a class with other dogs but, Dawn said he was ready and her being the trainer, I trusted her judgment. Samson shocked the hell out of me in the first CGC class. I’m willing to go out on a limb and say he was the best behaved dog that day. He did so good and I was so very proud of him. We finished the six classes and Samson earned his first ribbon. I was / am a proud dog mama. Samson has also just finished his CGCA! We are going on to the next class which is CGCU and I don’t plan on stopping there. The difference in our boy is truly remarkable! I can hardly believe he is the same dog. The compliments we get when we are out with him, whether it’s a walk in the neighborhood or to a dog friendly store make me proud. Sky is the limit for Samson! Dawn is truly a great trainer. We drive 1.5 hours to train with Dawn, she’s that good and so very worth the drive. Thanks Dawn for helping us help Samson become the dog he is today.
