The wildlife center is a wonderful place to help injured wildlife. They will help an animal any way they can. The only animals they can't help are rabie vector species. For those, you'd have to cal dec or wildlife rehabilitator.
I am a licensed falconer (apprentice) it's scary to think something is wrong with your hawk. I called all rapter/exotic vets in my area (Rochester) and no one could help with an emergency. So, as you do, I took my RT hawk Barb to Cornell. Worth every bit of the drive. They know and see so many more bird of prey come threw it is very reassuring to have them put eyes on your hawk. They did address the actual issue Barb was having as well as they pointed out other areas I can also look into. Thank you for being there for us. This was scary for me but yall put my mind at ease.
We found a broken-winged seagull flopping in and out of a puddle behind Tops. They were very kind and very fast. They met us outside the hospital and took the bird in to be examined and treated, if possible. They let us know what happened later. (The gull had to be euthanized, which was what we expected.)
