l went to PinkMeUp Salon(aka LUX Beauty) for haircolor with my sister. Don't recommend them at all. Headsup to newbies who want haircolor. Owner Megha & her asst. were friendly but no transparency in pricing and products. Enquired 2 days prior re:pricing for haircolor and she said $350 for color if using organic/natural products. Chose the same base color and highlights as my sis on the same day she was there for a cut and color w/highlights session. I have hair slightly down the shoulders (mid-length) and asked for haircolor w/highlights. She didn't mention anything about a SEPARATE charge for highlights. She proceeded w/haircolor. I wanted to cover grey roots, askd for base color to match my original (soft black) & medium-dark brown highlights. Told Megha that I always used to do henna and that I didn't want to bleach my hair & asked for alt options to achieve highlights. She said she'd use an organic, all-natural agent that'd only strip 2-3 coats pigment & would cause no harm as it's not traditional bleach. It was my very 1st time getting a hair color or highlights so not knowing much about this, I trusted her & thought the products will justify her high $. None of the colors were mixed in front of us. They'd go to their back room to mix. Given the high $$ & her claim to use organic products, you'd expect some transparency. This process took a few hours with multiple washes in between. They were really rough when washing hair and applying color. The color application was messy. Hair washing station was very uncomfortable. It hurts the neck. After base color, she applied the "organic bleach". She sectioned the hair but unevenly distributed the product. Upon washing the bleaching agent, she said that it lifted color beautifully although I used henna previously. A toner/glaze was applied followed by hair wash/blowdry. Upon completion, thought it looked fine under the salon's yellow lights & couldn't look at it closely under daylight as it was getting dark outside (we were there from 10:30am to 4pm). Proceeded to check out & Megha rang up a total of $1,050! My sis and I were really shocked at her pricing breakdown: $600 for my sister and $450 for me. When questioned her if the price was right, she said that we hadn't discussed the highlights over the phone. She could've said something about the price when we sat down to discuss the color options but she didn't & mind you, she only accepts Zelle or Cash. I haven't heard of any hair salon that doesn't accept credit cards, at least for offering services at such high prices. We made the payment of $1,050 PLUS 15% ($160) tip out of courtesy & walked out in complete disbelief. Next day, saw our hair in daylight & was in tears! It looked nothing like what we had asked for. My highlights were uneven especially at the front and crown as if I dropped blonde paint on my head, instead of medium-dark brown, & my hair was super dry(mind you walked in super shiny hair). She didn't do a patch-test & rushed through the color toning process. Called her next day to express the dissatisfaction & she gave us nothing but excuses. She claimed that orange patches are due to hair having henna before & it wasn't possible to achieve the look I wanted. She did not say this at the salon when I asked for Dark brown. If she did, I wouldn't have gone for highlights. She asked us to come back in 10 days so she could apply a dark shade to fix it, but I declined as I don't feel comfortable trusting her with my hair AGAIN. Asked around other salons(mid-range to celebrity stylists) & the price range for base color is $120-$150. Overall, we had a traumatizing experience @ Pink Me Up, & left w/ streaks of orange, blonde, ash brown, & black hair. Hair condition went from healthy to coarse/dry. If I could, I would absolutely steer clear of this salon.

If I could go back in time, I would absolutely steer clear of this salon. Please don't be fooled by all the 5 star reviews on Google like I did. I wish I had read the reviews on Yelp before subjecting myself to this atrocity. This salon was formerly known as Lux Beauty Salon. I didn't know this at the time and in hindsight I wish I had read their reviews before going here. The owner, Megha, was friendly & welcoming. However, her services are overpriced, there's no transparency in the pricing & products used, & she had no sense of accountability when I raised an issue. My sister & I went to Pink Me Up salon for a haircut /hair color. We walked in with luscious, dark hair (w/ some grey roots), & walked out with a horrendous head of hair with streaks of orange, blonde, ash brown, & black. Sadly, we could not see all the color variations in our hair under the salon's yellow lights at the time. Not to mention, their messy color application process left me with a bleached part eyebrow for which I did not even get an apology from Megha. & the uncomfortable hair wash station left the end of my scalp/neck tender & inflamed. For context: I called Megha 2 days prior & was told the price for haircolor would be $350 for long hair if she uses organic/all natural products & a cut would be add'l $$. The 5 star reviews & her claiming to use organic products seemed to justify the price point & so we decided to go to her salon though it was an hour away from where we live. When we arrived, she first asked me about the haircut & I told her I wanted a layered cut w/total length cut by 3". I then proceeded to pull out my phone to show her some photos for inspiration & the look I was going for. As I was reaching for my phone, she quickly ran her scissors through & chopped off about 6". She then started walking away to her backroom & asked if I was OK with the length. I was in utter disbelief and taken aback but didn't say anything as it all happened so fast & nothing could be done at that point. I hesitantly said OK & proceeded to discuss color options. I asked her to cover up my greys to match my original hair color (soft black) & to add highlights in a medium-dark brown color. We were there for 6 hours & she never once mentioned that highlights would cost EXTRA. We told her that we used to dye our hair with henna in the past & that we didn't want to use bleach in our hair hence asked if highlights were achievable. She said she'd use an organic/all-natural agent to lift the color & it would not be damaging as its not a traditional bleach. We didn't know any better as this was our 1st time getting highlights & trusted her in good faith. Throughout the coloring process, Megha & her assistant would go to their back room to mix the colors & there was no way to know what products she was using. For the high $$, one would expect some transparency but there was none. When it was time to checkout, she rang up a total of whopping $1,050! Yes, you read that right. To say that I was shocked would be an understatement. Her pricing breakdown was as follows: $350:color;$150:highlights,$100:haircut/blowdry (for me) $250:color,$150:highlights,$50:blowdry (for my sister who had short hair length & didn't get a cut). On top of this, we tipped her 15% ($160) for courtesy. The next morning, we realized how horrible our hair looked in daylight. It had 4 different shades, was extremely dry. I don't know what products she used on us but they definitely sucked the life out of our hair. I called her back to express our dissatisfaction & she dismissed our concerns saying by that it was due to our henna hair. If that was the case, she should have done a patch-test first but she didn't. She confidently went about bleaching our hair with who-knows-what product, resulting in an absolute disaster. Since our salon visit, I have been to 3 other stylists for consultations, & they all unanimously a
