Great place with great people

Our daughter was a wall flower in middle school before joining Mike and his team at the Dojo. They helped transform her into an assertive, well disciplined, confident, young woman of character and integrity. She is truely a more independent person thanks to the hard work and training she received from Mike and his team of instructors. She earned her black belt in high school but learned so much more. And yes, she has proven that the physical self defensive benefits worked as well during her college years!

We grew up in a martial arts home. As I got older and started having children, I want my kids to have the same sort of experience we had. But I also want to be opportunity for myself to continue the journey I never finished. I hesitated for a long time because I want to find a place that was well rounded. Not just kicking and punching. Not just beating the crap out of each other. We searched around for quite a bit as a family. But then we discovered Defensive Arts Dojo. It was exactly what we were looking for. The owners are amazing people. Very down to earth. Very intentional about combining a rich history of martial arts and presenting it in a very relevant and practical way. All three of our children participate, and even myself jumped in and I’m on the journey again. If you want a place that’s the real deal, but that also is intentional about developing people at all different levels, this is your place. If you have been hesitant because maybe you are a little bit older and don’t have a lot of skill yet, or maybe never tried, this is the place. If you’re highly skilled and tired of the same old, this place will challenge you like crazy. So thankful our family found this place. I’ve developed a lot of really great friendships here. The quality is high. The experience is challenging. The result is fulfilling. Trust me, if you have read this far into this review, you need to do it. There is the pain of discipline. But there’s also the pain of regret.
